Beachside Restaurants and Cafes -
the greatest concentration of Restaurants are to be found in the Mount Lavinia area. Sri Lankan, Chinese, Asian and European food can easily be found. Something you must try however, are the Beachside Restaurants specialising in seafood dishes. If you don’t feel like going out, your hosts at ‘Mount Lodge’ will prepare a mouth watering Sri Lankan meal for you.

Shopping -
will be one of your most memorable experiences. There are some shops in Colombo that simply should not be missed – not only will you find bargains but merchandise that will absolutely capture you. Take a train ride from Mount Lavinia to the ‘Pettah’ (Bazaar) and spend a day wandering through one of the greatest Eastern Bazaars.

Sightseeing -
spend a day or two seeing the sights of Colombo. Museums, Art Galleries, Cultural Theatre and Concerts, Temples and Mosques and more. You may choose to live it up and have a fling at one of the Casinos or a drink and a dance at one of the Night Clubs, or simply a ‘Barista’ at one of their modern outlets.

 
Swimming
-
a dip in the Indian Ocean and a loll on the beach can be had a few minutes walk from ‘Mount Lodge’. Order an ice-cold drink from the cafes on the beach. If you prefer a swimming pool, arrangements can be made to visit the Mount Lavinia Hotel which is a stones throw away from ‘Mount Lodge’.

Strolling -
a stroll along the Avenues of Mount Lavinia, is well worth doing. Take a relaxed look at Sri Lankan life. You will be acknowledged with the widest of smiles from these friendliest of people. Note the Architectural style of the buildings reflecting the changes in the Country’s history. Nearby is the weekly ‘Pola’ (market). Check the day and take the walk.
